Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whenever you're travelling to Abercarn, there are a few things you should always take with you. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Escape To Abercarn

Cottage prices in Abercarn will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. July and August are usually Caerphilly school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

All About Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Abercarn with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Abercarn cottage. If the description of the Abercarn cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Don't forget to make the most of your Caerphilly holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

The rise in popularity of holiday cottages is clear - more and more people are choosing to spend their holidays in the UK. It just seems a little pointless to fly half way around the world when there are so many great places to see in Abercarn.

For families, a cottage holiday can be a wonderful experience - free of the humdrum routine of home life. We already have enough rules and timetables in our lives, and a cottage holiday provides total freedom.

You have all the choice you need; you can order in a takeaway, eat out in a local restaurant or pub, and come and go as you please.
