Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whatever time you go to Blackawton, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Escape To Blackawton

Although we can't make promises on behalf of the owners and agencies, you can expect the best holiday cottages to be clean, secure and warm. The rise of cottage agencies has had a significant impact (in a good way) on the quality of places to stay.

For the traveller, this is clearly great news and although inevitably there have been price rises, we think it's for the better overall. As far as we know the cottages in Blackawton are up to scratch but if something is awry please call the owner/agent.

If you tell them about the problem they may be able to remove it or fix it before the day is over!

All About Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Blackawton, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Blackawton cottage. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your Devon holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Blackawton. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. For many people the idea of a Blackawton cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
