Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Buckland, we suggest a few key items to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Escape To Buckland

The rates for Buckland cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

All About Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Buckland with you. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

We want you to have a great Kent holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Cottages For Holidays

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in Buckland. No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
