We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Escape To Coldstream

Cottage prices in Coldstream will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

All About Cottages

When you choose your Coldstream accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Coldstream with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Many Coldstream visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Coldstream cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Coldstream or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Cottages For Holidays

Holiday cottages are swiftly becoming one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a week's holiday in the UK. It just seems a little pointless to fly half way around the world when there are so many great places to see in Coldstream.

For families, a cottage holiday can be a wonderful experience - free of the humdrum routine of home life. Hotels and B&Bs are great, but they still have long lists of rules that can take the fun out of a holiday.

You have all the choice you need; you can order in a takeaway, eat out in a local restaurant or pub, and come and go as you please.
