Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

If you want to have the best cottage holiday possible in Dirt Pot , we suggest a few key items to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Escape To Dirt Pot

In Dirt Pot , high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

All About Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Dirt Pot with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Many Dirt Pot visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. Many places will accept dogs, but it's always a good idea to double check in advance if it's not mentioned on the booking website.

We want you to have a great holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering always makes your holiday more relaxing in Dirt Pot . We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! For many people the idea of a Dirt Pot cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
