Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whatever time you go to Dunbar, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Definitely pack some waterproof clothing. There's no such thing as a guarantee against the rain and there's nothing worse than being stuck inside.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Escape To Dunbar

Dunbar holiday accommodation rates increase in peak season, which is generally around the times of the school summer holidays. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Summer half-term usually appears in the first couple of weeks in June, although different types of schools have different dates. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

All About Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Dunbar, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Dunbar with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Dunbar cottage. Many places will accept dogs, but it's always a good idea to double check in advance if it's not mentioned on the booking website.

We want you to have a great East Lothian holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Cottages For Holidays

The rise in popularity of holiday cottages is clear - more and more people are choosing to spend their holidays in the UK. Why travel abroad when there are so many great places to discover at home, staying in a holiday cottage in Dunbar.

For families, a cottage holiday can be a wonderful experience - free of the humdrum routine of home life. Other types of accommodation are far more rigid, which just doesn't seem so much fun to us.

You have all the choice you need; you can order in a takeaway, eat out in a local restaurant or pub, and come and go as you please.
