Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

To make the best of your trip in Dunfermline, we recommend you bring some essential items. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you have a DVD player in the Fife cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Escape To Dunfermline

Throughout the Fife area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

All About Cottages

When you choose your Dunfermline accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Many Dunfermline visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. Not all places will welcome pets so please make sure that it's either clearly marked on the booking website, or if not drop a quick line to the owner to make sure.

We want you to have a great Fife holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Cottages For Holidays

For many people the perfect UK holiday is staying in a cottage, and it's clearly an increasing trend. The cost and inconvenience of international travel is unnecessary when we have such excellent things to do in Dunfermline.

Escaping the inevitably dull (or stressful) daily treadmill is important for everyone. A cottage holiday can provide all the freedom without without the constraints of staying in an hotel or bed and breakfast.

No need to vacate your room when you want to be having a lie in, no need to feel bad about eating at a restaurant when you've already paid for your hotel meal.
