Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whatever time you go to Fingringhoe, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If you have a DVD player in the Essex cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We find it really hard to decide which type of cottage we like best. Generally we just enjoy going away!

Escape To Fingringhoe

In Fingringhoe, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Fingringhoe school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

All About Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to Fingringhoe, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Fingringhoe with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Many Fingringhoe visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. If the description of the Fingringhoe cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Don't forget to make the most of your Essex holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Fingringhoe. You take away some of the pressure that appears when staying in a hotel or b and b - you must eat your meals at this time, you must order from this menu.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

There's also a growing number of holidaymakers who just want to get really energetic and try new things, including abseiling, rafting, climbing and even potholing.
