Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

To make the best of your trip in G70, we recommend you bring some essential items. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Escape To G70

The rates for G70 cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

All About Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Many G70 visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a cottage found through us!

Cottages For Holidays

We think that self-catering is the best way to holiday in G70. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in G70.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
