Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

In GU23, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. You can never be sure of the weather, so take something to protect you from the rain - ideally something that can be packed in a rucksack just in case.

If you have a DVD player in the cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Escape To GU23

Cottage prices in GU23 will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Some of the best cottages in the UK are fiercely independent and have incredibly high standards, and more recently the rise of agencies has helped increase standards right across the board.

All About Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in GU23 with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Dog owners often like to spend their holidays in the UK so that they can take their four legged friends with them. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the GU23 cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a cottage found through us!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in GU23. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For others it's an opportunity to get more active, from mountain biking to cross-country running. If you're over 60, we recommend the more relaxed approach!
