Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

We always make sure we take a good book. There's always plenty of downtime on a cottage holiday, and so it's a great time to catch up on a read. Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Escape To Golder Field

If you're looking for a clean, professionally run holiday cottage, then look no further than our selection of the best cottages here. We've noticed a huge improvement in the quality of cottages throughout the UK in the last 10 years.

For the traveller, this is clearly great news and although inevitably there have been price rises, we think it's for the better overall. Owners and agencies have also become more responsive when there are issues and its best to deal with them as soon as possible.

You might be surprised how quickly it can be sorted out if you just let them know.

All About Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Many Golder Field visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. Many places will accept dogs, but it's always a good idea to double check in advance if it's not mentioned on the booking website.

We want you to have a great holiday so we wish you the best of luck finding your perfect accomodation.

Cottages For Holidays

The rise in popularity of holiday cottages is clear - more and more people are choosing to spend their holidays in the UK. Why travel abroad when there are so many great places to discover at home, staying in a holiday cottage in Golder Field .

Escaping the inevitably dull (or stressful) daily treadmill is important for everyone. We already have enough rules and timetables in our lives, and a cottage holiday provides total freedom.

You don't have to eat at set times with set menus, get out of the room by a certain time or tiptoe around other guests late at night.
