By the way, it's always worth checking with your fellow guests to understand what they expect from the cottage. We know that many families with young children like to have access to satellite or free view TV channels such as Cbeebies and the Disney Channel. Of course many people travel to get away from it all, and just relax quietly with an open fire and a good book.

Escape To Islesteps

Throughout the area rates will vary quite a bit throughout the year - clearly the winter is the cheapest time. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the Islesteps school summer holidays.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

All About Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Islesteps with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Many Islesteps visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. If the description of the Islesteps cottage does not indicate that its pet friendly, please contact the owner before confirming the booking.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Islesteps or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Cottages For Holidays

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Islesteps . It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! Relaxing by the river, reading a great novel, perhaps a pint in the pub - these are some of the favourite ways to enjoy some quiet time in Islesteps .

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
