Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

To make the best of your trip in Millthrop , we recommend you bring some essential items. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Escape To Millthrop

The best cottages in the area are spotlessly clean, with great facilities and attentive owners eager to please their guests. We've noticed a huge improvement in the quality of cottages throughout the UK in the last 10 years.

Meaning that the days of sub-standard amenities, bedding and even heating are left behind in the 20th Century. Owners and agencies have also become more responsive when there are issues and its best to deal with them as soon as possible.

And as customer service improves (and it improves all the time) you'll discover that if there is a problem it can be addressed quite quickly.

All About Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Many Millthrop visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. Not all places will welcome pets so please make sure that it's either clearly marked on the booking website, or if not drop a quick line to the owner to make sure.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in Millthrop or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Cottages For Holidays

There are many benefits to a self-catering holiday in Millthrop . No pressure from the owner to eat meals at specific times, when you are self-catering the food is ready when you want it to be ready.

And if you have specific dietary needs, whether that's something relatively common like vegetarianism or a more unusual food allergy, cooking your own food allows you peace of mind. For many people the idea of a Millthrop cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
