Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whatever time you go to Moor Common , we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Escape To Moor Common

In Moor Common , high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. July and August are usually school summer holidays.

If you want to avoid half-term in the summer, draw a line through the first two weeks of June. Booking early is always a good idea. You have a much better chance of getting your preferred date and accommodation. But, that doesn't mean its impossible to get a late booking.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

All About Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Most dog owners like to take their four legged friends away with them on trips to Moor Common . We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

Holiday cottages are swiftly becoming one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a week's holiday in the UK. It just seems a little pointless to fly half way around the world when there are so many great places to see in Moor Common .

For families, a cottage holiday can be a wonderful experience - free of the humdrum routine of home life. Hotels and B&Bs are great, but they still have long lists of rules that can take the fun out of a holiday.

Say goodbye to the structure of fixed meal times, the frustrations of noisy room-mates that you don't know and irritating staff!
