Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whenever you're travelling to PL8, there are a few things you should always take with you. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! There are obviously local stores that can supply you with all the food you need, but we always like to arrive with coffee, tea bags, a pint of milk, a bar of chocolate and some bread and butter for the toaster - it's good to get the energy up after a long journey. We love finding great new cottages, part of the fun of a holiday is not quite knowing where you're going!

Escape To PL8

In PL8, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. Mid-July til the end of August are the core weeks for the PL8 school summer holidays.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Many cottage owners have signed themselves up with national agencies to help with the marketing and administration, which also helps keep standards to a certain level.

All About Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to PL8, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Many PL8 visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the PL8 cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Don't forget to make the most of your holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in PL8. We like the freedom of eating meals when we want. There's something wrong with taking a holiday and then finding out that you have to get up early or you miss the breakfast you've paid for.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
