Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

In PO40, whatever time of year, and whoever you are with, we have a few suggestions for essentials to take along. Preparing for a little rain is always a good plan. An umbrella and an anorak or rain coat can get everyone smiling even on the worse days.

If your family and friends are anything like ours, you should have a good book ready to fill those times when everyone's getting ready, or waiting for them to come back from a long walk. Lastly we think turning up with a few things to eat and drink is a good start to your holiday - there's nothing worse than grumpy kids or friends when its time to unpack, and a little chocolate or a cup of coffee can work wonders. We're often asked which is the best place to stay, and it's so hard to answer, it really depends what you are looking for.

Escape To PO40

The rates for PO40 cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. School holidays tend to be mid-July to the end of August.

Half term in the summer extends across the first half of June, as different schools break up at different times. Although we really encourage you too book your cottage early, there are opportunities for last minute bookings, so it can be worth checking.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

All About Cottages

Whether you're going away with friends or family to PO40, you'll want to consider the type of accommodation you book. Do you need twin beds or double beds, can the kids share a room, will your friends all want separate bedrooms?

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the PO40 cottage. Many places will accept dogs, but it's always a good idea to double check in advance if it's not mentioned on the booking website.

Wherever you stay, whether it's in PO40 or elsewhere, we hope you have a fabulous holiday!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in PO40. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Of course it also means that you can skip a meal in the accommodation and just eat out - perhaps grab some fish and chips, or maybe a pizza or burger. Waking up without the alarm, cooking a nice hearty breakfast, perhaps sitting by the river for a spot of fishing or just reading a book.

For many, however, its a chance to really do something active, from running and mountain biking to swimming and climbing.
