Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

The price of a holiday cottage will vary based on size, facilities and time of year - and the demand for the area. The time of year, size and facilities can make a considerable difference, but sometimes you can get more than you need for the same cost.

By the way, it's always worth checking with your fellow guests to understand what they expect from the cottage. Families often need more amenities than couples as the need to keep the kids entertained, fed and quiet often requires a little technological helping hand. Of course many people travel to get away from it all, and just relax quietly with an open fire and a good book.

Escape To Highgate

In Highgate, high season tends to match the summer school holidays, with mid-season a month either side. The school summer holidays generally run from the middle of July to late August.

Half term dates are different for different schools, but normally summer half-term is around the first two weeks of June. It's becoming less likely to book the best cottages last minute, but by no means impossible. We recommend you give it a try.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

All About Cottages

Before you book that 16th Century thatched roof cottage with low ceilings, you may want to ask the tallest people in your group/family whether the olde worlds charm outweighs the pain of bumping heads on beams. Are you looking for a quaint old stone cottage in Highgate with an open fire - or something a little more child friendly with nice warm carpets and central heating?

Many Highgate visitors like to bring their pets (normally dogs) when they go on holiday. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Don't forget to make the most of your Kent holiday - none of us get enough of them!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Highgate. No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

And it also gives the freedom of eating out without needing to reorganise any plans in your accomodation. You don't need to tell anyone, just sit down and order! A large number of our visitors like to use their stay as an opportunity to just put their feet up, gaze at the scenery, take an afternoon nap, and enjoy a nice home cooked meal. Just taking it easy in Highgate.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
