Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Whatever time you go to Reay, we'd like to suggest some things to take to improve your stay. Start with something to keep the rain away. You can never really be sure of the weather. An umbrella and a raincoat are a good start!

If you have a DVD player in the Highland cottage, definitely take a few great movies. It's so enjoyable to curl up in the evening and watch a classic film. And then we always make sure we have good supplies with us when we arrive so that we can sit down and have a cup of coffee and perhaps a piece of cake before we start that boring unpacking! Many people have favourite places they return to again and again, whereas we like to find new places to stay.

Escape To Reay

Cottage prices in Reay will range from high to low throughout the year, but clearly the summer months will be the most expensive as remand increases. July and August are usually Highland school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

All About Cottages

When you choose your Reay accommodation its worth bearing in mind the group of people staying with you. If you have young kids in the party you may want to think twice about open fires, and of course some of the oldest cottages may have lower ceilings than those you are used to.

Dogs need holidays too, so it can be fun to bring your favourite pooch to the Reay cottage. We always suggest that you check with the owner if there are no pet details listed. And even if there are, it can be a good idea to let them know so they can put out a bowl of water for your dog's arrival.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Highland cottage found through us!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering holidays can be the most fun in Reay. It's so much more relaxing when you can eat when it suits you - cooking exactly when you want (and whatever you want).

You can decide what food and drink you want to consume, and you can choose when to sit down and eat it... or even stand up and eat it! For many people the idea of a Reay cottage holiday allows them to relax, take long rambling walks and stop off at a country pub for a pint and a ploughman's lunch.

On the other hand, there's a growing proportion of visitors who use their time away from home to get fitter and try new things - such as mountain biking, horse riding or canoeing.
