Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

To make the best of your trip in Rowsley, we recommend you bring some essential items. Rainproof clothing and a light umbrella should be the first things to pack. The rain only comes when you are not prepared.

We think a good book is another essential. Not just an opportunity to catch up on your reading, but also to pass the time waiting for everyone else to get themselves ready, or wait out the rain! Finally you should take a few initial supplies, such as tea, coffee, milk, bread and some cheese. Of course you can usually buy them locally but it's easy to forget and there's nothing better than a cup of tea before you start unpacking. We have stayed in many types of cottage, and we've decided we like both traditional and modern - it just depends on where we're going.

Escape To Rowsley

The rates for Rowsley cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. The summer holiday period (for schools) runs from mid-July through the whole of August.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. Last minute bookings are alway possible, though clearly your choices will be fewer. It really is worth booking early.

Cottage agencies are growing in size as a greater number of independents sign up with them. As a consumer this has a positive impact - in theory the facilities and standards are kept to a pre-agreed level.

All About Cottages

Before you start to research your holiday accommodation, it's worth asking everyone what they are looking for. If you're travelling to Rowsley in a group of single people, are there enough beds in the bedrooms?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Rowsley with you. Not all places will welcome pets so please make sure that it's either clearly marked on the booking website, or if not drop a quick line to the owner to make sure.

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a Derbyshire cottage found through us!

Cottages For Holidays

For many people the perfect UK holiday is staying in a cottage, and it's clearly an increasing trend. The cost and inconvenience of international travel is unnecessary when we have such excellent things to do in Rowsley.

For families, a cottage holiday can be a wonderful experience - free of the humdrum routine of home life. The fact that you are renting a unique 'unit' means that you can do what you want, when you want.

You don't have to eat at set times with set menus, get out of the room by a certain time or tiptoe around other guests late at night.
