Welcome To Our Selection of Holiday Cottages

Many of our cottages are extremely reasonable in price, based on their size, facilities and season. The time of year, size and facilities can make a considerable difference, but sometimes you can get more than you need for the same cost.

We highly recommend that you ensure that the property you're considering has all the features you need. If you're travelling with friends they may have very different expectations compared to staying with your family - such as a nearby pub. Many guests book holiday cottages for a break from all this stuff and prefer to read a book, open a bottle of wine, and just relax.

Escape To Velly

The rates for Velly cottages are highest in the warmer months, generally aligning with the school holidays. July and August are usually school summer holidays.

The private and state schools tend to have differing half-term dates, but normally the first half of June is summer half-term. It's recommended to make an early booking to ensure your date, especially during high season, but it's not impossible to find a last minute opportunity.

More and more cottages seem to be signing up with agencies to help with their bookings.

All About Cottages

When you're searching for the best cottage for your stay, make sure that you've thought through the bedroom needs and allocation. Is there agreement on an old fashioned cottage, or should you be looking for something contemporary with all the modern appliances?

If you have a dog, you may like to bring him or her to Velly with you. It's a good idea to ask the owner or agency whether you can take your pet inside the Velly cottage. And let them know if it's not a dog!

Have a great holiday, wherever you stay. Hopefully it will be in a cottage found through us!

Cottages For Holidays

Self-catering is an ideal way to holiday in Velly . No worrying about getting to the dining room in time, either before the hotel declares that breakfast is over, or trying to fit in with other b and b guests.

Eat what you want, whenever you want it. And of course that's particularly good if anyone in your party suffers from food allergies or has other dietary requirements. We know many people who consider a holiday cottage as the perfect way to wind down after a busy urban lifestyle - sleep in, take lazy walks through the countryside and take more time over meals.

But you may want to get out and burn some energy on bikes, climb a hill or mountain, or even try canoeing. Whatever you choose, please take the right clothing and equipment with you.
